Welcome. I’m Roberta Pacino, a Seattle painter, filmmaker, and lifelong storyteller.
Some visitors may arrive here because my name is familiar through my family. I hope you will stay to discover my own creative work: original acrylic paintings rooted in magical realism, women-centered figurative art, symbolism, and cinematic storytelling.
I paint slowly and intentionally by hand on canvas. Nothing is generated. Nothing is rushed. Each painting begins with an idea, a feeling, or a question and gradually becomes a world of its own.

A Life Shaped by Story
I was born in New York and raised in Southern California in a family shaped by theater and music. Creative expression was never separate from life. It was woven into it.
Later, I earned an MFA in Film Producing and worked behind the camera on documentary and creative projects. For years, storytelling lived for me through light, framing, atmosphere, and emotional arc.
That cinematic eye never left me.
It simply found a new stage.
When Expression Became Empowerment
For much of my life, I carried a quiet belief that I was not quite enough.
I achieved. I created. I worked hard. Yet underneath it all, something felt incomplete.
Through years of spiritual reflection, Dzogchen practice, and deep inner work, a realization slowly took root: we are not here to earn our worth. We already possess it.
That understanding changed the way I saw myself and my life. It brought a grounded sense of inner authority that felt steady, quiet, and real.
Not long after that shift, I began to sketch.
Then I began to paint.
There was no strategic plan to become an artist. Painting emerged naturally, as if a door had quietly opened and the creative voice inside me finally felt free.
My art was born from that freedom.
Becoming a Painter
I began painting in 2019, after a lifetime shaped by storytelling and creative work.
At first, I was simply learning. Every canvas presented a new challenge involving color, composition, expression, light, and the courage to continue when I did not yet know where the painting was going.
Then I completed Tree of Life.
When I stepped back and looked at it, I said aloud, “I’m an artist.”
It was the first time I fully recognized my own artistic voice.
Coming to painting later in life has taught me that creativity has no expiration date. Sometimes the path we are meant to follow does not disappear. It waits until we are ready to see it.
The World Inside the Paintings
My work moves between magical realism and figurative art.
The lions in fedoras. The woodland gatherings. The symbolic meals under soft light. The women who meet the gaze of a raven, a buck, a wolf, or another animal that may appear as companion, witness, messenger, or guide.
On the surface, the paintings may seem playful, mysterious, or dreamlike. Beneath them live deeper questions of strength, sovereignty, tenderness, belonging, transformation, and imagination trusted without apology.
I am drawn to the place where the familiar meets the mysterious.
A meal can become a conversation about connection. An animal can become a guide. A woman’s expression can hold an entire unwritten story.
My paintings do not tell viewers exactly what to think. They leave space for memory, interpretation, and personal meaning.
Women and Symbolic Animals
The women in my figurative paintings are not simply subjects to be observed. They have presence, history, vulnerability, intuition, and agency.
Some carry light. Some confront mystery. Some stand quietly inside a moment of change. Others share an intimate connection with an animal whose meaning may not yet be understood.
As a woman who came to painting later in life, I am especially drawn to the strength that develops through experience. My women-centered figurative art explores inner knowing, identity, resilience, and the wisdom that can emerge through adversity and self-discovery.
The animals in my work also carry meaning, though I do not want that meaning to be fixed. A raven, buck, tiger, lion, or wolf may speak differently to every viewer.
That personal response is part of the conversation.

Every piece begins as a physical acrylic painting shaped by time, presence, and lived experience.
Select works are later prepared as museum-quality archival prints and curated pieces for the home, allowing the story to live with you in different ways.
My original paintings and prints are created for people who want more than something to fill a space. They are for collectors who feel a connection to story, symbolism, imagination, cinematic light, and the possibility that a painting can reveal something new each time it is seen.
