The Rhythm of Becoming: Reflections from the Tree of Life
Share
With every season, the Tree of Life reminds us that change is not the end, it’s the rhythm of becoming.
When I painted this piece, I was thinking about the passage of time through nature. Each quadrant of the canvas holds a season: spring, summer, autumn, and winter, each distinct, yet all connected by the steady presence of the tree at the center. What I didn’t expect was how clearly it would speak to the seasons of our lives.
Spring, like childhood, is full of wonder and possibility. Summer brings the energy and passion of young adulthood. Autumn arrives with the richness and depth of middle age —harvest time. And winter, far from being an ending, offers the stillness and reflection of old age. There’s beauty in each season, not just in nature, but within us.
The tree doesn’t cling to spring or mourn the fall of its leaves. It flows with time. That truth found its way into every brushstroke.
This painting has become more than a work of art, it’s a quiet teacher. It reminds me that even as we age and evolve, we are not diminishing. We are becoming. Becoming more ourselves. More attuned. More whole.

So as we move into summer, I’m reflecting on this rhythm we all share. Life is not a straight line, it’s a cycle. And every turn of the wheel brings new color, new growth, and new meaning.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
Here’s to every season of becoming.
