A lion and tiger sit across from one another at a table deep within a shadowy jungle. Pasta has been served, and whatever brought these two powerful characters together appears to be serious business.
The Sit-Down plays with the atmosphere of an old-fashioned mob meeting, transforming two wild animals into sharply dressed figures whose expressions and body language suggest a conversation we are not quite meant to hear. The lion watches with quiet composure while the tiger gestures across the table, leaving the viewer to imagine exactly what is being discussed.
The humor comes from the unlikely combination of jungle royalty and human ritual, but beneath it is a theme I return to often in my work: what happens when very different characters come together at a table. A shared meal becomes a setting for conversation, negotiation, trust, and perhaps a little tension.
Created from my original hand-painted acrylic painting on canvas, this museum print combines anthropomorphic storytelling, magical realism, cinematic atmosphere, and a touch of noir. It brings personality and intrigue to a study, office, library, dining area, media room, or any space where artwork with a story feels at home.
The Sit-Down never reveals exactly what is being decided. That part of the story belongs to the viewer.
